Kitchen Remodel - Orangevale CA
These clients love to cook but were finding their kitchen somewhat dated and difficult to work in. The cabinets were semi-custom red oak in good shape with 6'' x 6'' ceramic tile counter and backspalsh. The clients didn't like the red oak cabinet frames and doors but didn't like the idea of discarding the good parts of the cabinet either. And the tile counters were hard to keep clean. We designed a plan to re-frame all of the cabinets with natural cherry hardwood including new doors and drawer fronts.New drawer boxes were constructed along with pullout shelf features. Lighting in the kitchen was improved greatly by eliminating the fluorescent light box and replacing it with 5'' recessed can lights, under cabinet lights, and a 10'' Solatube over the kitchen sink. New Cambria solid quartz countertops were installed to replace the ceramic tile. A resilient cork flooring plank was installed to soften noise and reduce strain on their legs and feet.
To manage a large demolition project like this we utilized a high efficiency negative air filtration system (HEPA). We totally enclose the work area in plastic. The HEPA filter is placed outside with flexible duct leading to the kitchen window. The HEPA filter acts like large vacuum cleaner pulling in virtually all of the airborne dust and never leaving you with our mess to clean up.
