Loomis Kitchen Remodel

The home was extensively remodeled approximately 12 years ago. The home included smooth wall finishes and hardwood floors throughout. These customers wanted to update their kitchen with new quartz countertops, tile splash, and pass-through kitchen window. The job would have been relatively easy but the customer wanted the exiting eating bar lowered approximately 6'' to a standard bar height and wanted to make the eating area longer and wider. This required that the supporting wall be cut down and the counter height electrical outlets be lowered. New ½'' cantilever brackets were installed to support the weight of heavy elbows. To prevent dust from migrating through the entire house a temporary plastic containment wall was erected to separate the work area from the rest of the house.

Zipper doorways were installed so the family could access all areas of the house after work hours. Protective cardboard materials were applied to the hardwood floors to prevent them from damage during the entire project. A high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) negative air system was installed to contain the dust within the work area. As a second measure to contain the dust a HEPA vacuum was used. The customers selected 3cm Caesarstone #6313 quartz, Turbine Grey with a matching mosaic tile backspalsh.

The installation included a Kohler cast iron undermount kitchen sink and a Moen brushed nickel faucet. A Milgard, Tuscany series, double sliding pass-through window was installed with and slate covered exterior serving shelf. The existing under-sink reverse osmosis water filtration was reinstalled. The drywall was repaired and touched up as necessary to complete the job.
